“Volunteer Stories From Home” Featuring Lexalynn Hooper

Lexalynn Hooper grew up in Roseburg, Oregon, and graduated from high school in 1969. She attended Portland State University and following graduation, served in Korea with the Supplemental Recreation Activities Program or SRAO as a Donut Dollie.

She met her husband in Korea, a 2nd Lt and have been married 56 years, they have a son and two grandchildren. When her husband retired, Lexalynn went to work for the Association of the U.S. Army and retired after 28 years. In her last position, she served as Manager of the International and Special Programs.

Now at 80, she is a Docent at the National Museum of the United States Army.
