CPL Joshua Harmon

CPL Joshua Harmon was assigned to the 25th Light Infantry Division (nicknamed “Tropic Lightning”), 35th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion based out of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. He served as a combat medic and was on his first and only deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom when he tragically lost his life in a helicopter accident, along with 13 others. While in Iraq, Joshua received the Army Commendation Medal with Valor for extraordinary lifesaving measures when he saved the life of a fellow soldier who had been shot in the head by a sniper. Joshua was a kind, loving person who loved his family and thoroughly enjoyed life. He is missed every day and his family is glad that his memory will live on for generations through his brick at the National Museum of the U.S. Army. (Return to “Why my brick?” Testimonial Page.)
