Ahead of the 80th anniversary of D-Day on June 6, 2024, the Museum will host the World War II Museum’s traveling exhibit “D-Day: Freedom From Above” in the special exhibition space starting April 6, 2024.
Experience the D-Day invasion through the eyes of eight U.S. Army paratroopers. Interactive HistoPad technology takes visitors on a journey through individual Soldier stories, following their unprecedented airborne landings to their actions on the ground during those historic moments in 1944.
“We are thrilled that the Museum will commemorate one of the most storied days in Army history by offering a way for visitors to virtually explore the experiences of actual D-Day Soldiers who dared to take those beaches under the most harrowing circumstances,” said AHF President retired Brig. Gen. Burt Thompson. “This special exhibition is a natural fit for the Museum’s commitment to present the history of the Army through the accounts of individual Soldiers.”
The exhibit will be open daily, April 6 through November 2024, included with the Museum’s free admission.
