100th Infantry Battalion
Thank you for Josh Cline’s article on the Nisei 100th Infantry Battalion and the cover photograph that appeared in the Fall 2024 issue of On Point. The article honors the soldiers’ years of service and sacrifice during World War II to prove their loyalty to their country.
My father, Kazuo Yamane, originally served with the 100th Infantry Battalion before being selected for the Military Intelligence Service. I have since donated all of his original photo albums of each of his assignments, as well as miscellaneous artifacts from his years of service to the National Museum of the United States Army. Four such artifacts are in the Nisei Soldier Experience Exhibit, which my husband and I finally saw during our December visit to the Museum.
