Grassroots Spotlight – 1st Sgt. Shannon Tutor U.S. Army, Retired

“After I retired in 2013, volunteering was a great way to give back not only to the Army but to veterans and the community as a whole. It allowed me to continue to feel connected to the Army. I have represented The Army Historical Foundation as well as the National Museum of the U.S. Army at Fort Campbell’s Retiree Appreciation Day for the past four years, and I have shared pamphlets and information in my current job as a residential property manager. I enjoy discussing the Museum with other retirees at the Retiree Appreciation Day events. It is great to see the excitement that so many folks have about it.

“My family and I got to visit on July 2, 2021. I was so impressed with everything from the moment we entered the parking lot and saw how massive it is and how incredibly manicured everything is. Just walking along the sidewalk and viewing the unit plaques through the Lobby and display of heroes…was super enjoyable.”
