A Salute to the Volunteer Corps

The Army Historical Foundation recently hosted its annual appreciation breakfast for the National Army Museum’s Volunteer Corps. These volunteers enrich the Museum experience by serving as the helpful, friendly faces at visitors services and special events, as well as leading tours and educational activities, and even tending to the gardens.

In 2022, Colonel Michael Urette and Mrs. Karen Urette recognized just how integral the Volunteer Corps is to the Museum and proposed an annual breakfast in its honor, made possible with their support. “It is terrifically gratifying to see how much the volunteers enjoy it and to observe their recognition,” said the Urettes. “We are truly happy and appreciative that our contribution seems to make a difference.”

The Volunteer Corps is open to all who have a passion for sharing the stories of the U.S. Army. To learn more, visit armyhistory.org/museum-volunteers.
