Released in 2015, the seventh ornament in our series depicting Soldier images in U.S. Army history focuses on Operation JUST CAUSE. The front of the ornament frames the oil on canvas, “To Flush a Sniper”, 7th Infantry Division, Fort Ord, California by Al Sprague. The reverse of the ornament features the National Museum of the U.S. Army logo with the quote, “There was a lot of chaos on the ground…We secured the airfield” attributed to SFC Rudy Fotanez of the 1st Ranger Battalion who parachuted under the cover of darkness to secure Panama’s Rio Hato airfield for follow-on Army units. This collectible ornament is made by U.S. craftsmen from solid brass and finished in 24 karat gold, measuring 2 ½ inches high by 3 ½ inches wide. Each ornament is packaged in a gift box with an enclosure card detailing its design.
