This event will be held at the national headquarters of the North South Skirmish Association, a 501c(3) non-profit organization formed in 1950. The N-SSA promotes the safe and competitive shooting of Civil War firearms and artillery while wearing Civil War uniforms. There are currently over 3,500 members composing over 200 units (teams). The property features a nearly half mile long shooting range where hundreds of members compete in rifle, smoothbore, carbine, pistol matches, as well as shooting Civil War artillery pieces in competition. The trailers and cabins seen throughout the site are the permanent camps of the member units, where each team is given a piece of property to construct their home away from home.

Attendees of this event will have the opportunity to fire 5 rounds each from 3 different Civil War weapons systems (Rifle Musket, Smoothbore Musket, and Carbine) at target sets at 25 and 50 yards distance. The shooting will be supervised by Civil War era weapons experts and members of the NSSA. The Army Historical Foundation is excited to offer this rare opportunity to select supporters as this property is only accessible to range members.

AHF will be setting up tents with coolers of snacks and beverages, with restrooms available on site. Eye and ear protection is required and will be provided, however if you have your own preferred shooting protection, please bring it along! Watching others shoot is great fun and part of the overall experience, we also encourage you to bring a comfortable chair to sit and watch the shooting.

Participants will receive a special member gift to include a Civil War Range Day Certificate of Completion, your very own Minié Ball momento to remember the outing, along with a special  edition of Civil War On Point, all in a canvas tote bag. We look forward to seeing you!

Upon registration, a member of the AHF team will be in touch with further participation guidelines and additional information as part of your registration packet. Note, transportation to and from the range is not provided.

This invitation offer is for the intended recipient only and is nontransferable.
